CICCC Update—20 February 2018 Meeting

Address by Terminals CEO Nick Moen

Nick Moen, Terminal's CEO, attended the February meeting of the CICCC. Nick detailed his own extensive experience in the oil industry and said that he has a particular emphasis on ensuring safety at all the Terminals facilities.

Nick explained the qualifications and experience of the senior managers in the company: Phil Jones (a Process Engineer) in charge of Operations, Alan Figgis (a Mechanical Engineer) is the National Integrity Manager and Stephen Lewis (a Chemical Engineer) is the National HSEQ Manager. Should the opportunity arise, Nick would like to expand the footprint of the Coode Island facility.

Reporting by Terminals Pty Ltd

The 2013-2014 Community Report was tabled at the meeting, and has been loaded to the web site. The outstanding Community Reports are now expected to be completed by the May meeting.

A significant incident occurred during the period. 100 tonnes of Aluminium Sulphate (a non-flammable, water soluble product) spilled overnight from Tank 049, and the remaining 480 tonnes was transferred to an empty tank at the Geelong facility. The leak was contained in the bund, and the tank has been cleaned. The cause of the leak is being investigated.

Phil Jones tabled the eight PIN notices served on the company. Five of these have been complied with, and the other three are under progressive implementation. Further discussion on the PIN notices will occur at the May meeting of the Committee.

Next meeting of the CICCC

The next meeting will be held at the Terminals Site Office at McKenzie Road, Coode Island, on Tuesday 22 May 2018 at 3pm.
